It is really hard not to be controlled. I fight it actively every day. I especially fight it when another person tries to control me, such as a spouse or friendly unsolicited advice...my ex tried to control me all the time. But I resisted. And it eventually led to her being my ex....
I don't like being controlled and I suspect you don't either....unless you're in love, then perhaps some is fine. You may let things slip. But if your s.o. is constantly controlling you, then how can there be romance?! A bird always comes back when it is allowed to soar. If you capture it, do you think it will be happy .... Some control you may cede to your loved ones, after all that's what you're here for.... But did you know that you're being controlled in other aspects? Your cellphone or the email drip heroin addiction! Yup email is a heroin addiction....so is your phone We are now defining our lives by the email we get. We are professional Emailers.... One way to control email is to designate two ...Two/Three times a day (i.e., 10 am, 4pm) to access email, text, FB, TW...... deal with them, delete them... shut your phone down and go back to what you were doing as a skilled profession. Oh, there are implications to the brain too....if you don't allow your brain to relax, and allow it to roam free (read meditation), it will be addicted and continue to ask for control. In such cases, we find that time warps, and before you know it a day, a week, or years of flown by.... Who wants that! Savour every moment, life is the most valuable asset you have on a declining scale. Without life nothing, without health we cannot enjoy life. Let's not wait till 65 to savour life. Then we will just regret, be depressed and ultimately have health issues... Onwards, upwards and harness the POWER OF NOW!! |
